Screwworms In Humans: A Look at the “Man-Eater”
Many
believe that screwworms only feed on lower animals. This is not so! As humans are warm-blooded, we are
susceptible to screwworm infestation. Cochliomyia
hominivorax, the scientific name for the New World Screwworm, means man-eater .
Preventing
a screwworm infestation is easy. Clean
any wounds you get with alcohol or disinfectant.

however, you do become infested by screwworm, go to your doctor, clinic or
hospital immediately!
